Engine details: Unique Characteristics: The car sold new from Jack Dankel Chevrolet of Allentown Pennsylvania. and had an extensive race history in the PHA, Pennsylvania Hillclimb Association. Appears in Corvette News articles and in videos showing on www.youtube.com. Raced in SCCA road races, including in Reading, PA and Upper Marlboro, MD. Phil Zosky entered races at Lime Rock and Nelson Ledges in 1973. A 1965 coupe, originally Nassau Blue/ Black vinyl, No Radio, Option N14 Side Exhaust, and F40 Suspension. The car sold new from Jack Dankel Chevrolet of Allentown, PA in May of 1965 and had an extensive race history in the PHA, Pennsylvania Hillclimb Association. Appears in Corvette News articles and in videos showing on www.youtube.com. First raced in PHA events with original knock off wheels and non-original Blue Streak tires. First owner Tom Morgan consulted with Al Loquasto (15) and asked him to drive a first hill climb in his new car, in June of 1965. The location was the hill called Giants Despair just outside of Wilkes-Barre, PA. Photographer Carl Hess has images of this (one month old) Corvette with Loquasto driving. Later, Tom Morgan most frequently used Jim Dantzer as a co-driver. Bert Karlman was a co-driver just one time, but that was the day Corvette News came to report on a PHA event. The engine expired in 1969 with Armstrong driving at Reading, PA. Armstrong sold the car on the same day to Mike Oleyar, who had wrecked his first 425 HP green coupe. Mike Oleyar applied his number 51 and raced in at least one hill climb event in 1969. Oleyar also ran hills in 1970 with an orange livery. In 1969-1970 winter time, the car was repainted burnt orange, an MGB color. This was when owned by Mike Oleyar (dealer in English cars), and yellow when owned by Dr. Carl Bartashunas.
